In 1986 – almost a hundred years after Joseph Conrad – Stawski travelled from Kinshasa to Kisangani on the Colonel Ebeya. With three thousand Congolese passengers he ventured up the majestic Congo River through the tropical rainforest. His photographs bring this exceptional journey to life.
